The ACET International Alliance is a growing community of independent AIDS programmes in many parts of the world,that originally began in the UK under the ACET name in 1988.ACET stands for AIDS, Care, Education and Training and was founded by Dr Patrick Dixon.Alliance members are united in a common aim to see an effective Christian response to AIDS:
  • Unconditional, compassionate care for all affected by HIV / AIDS
  • Life-saving prevention respecting and upholding the historic teachings of the church
  • Effective training with a holistic approach to personal and community development

The Alliance consists of

  • National Resource Centres: centres of excellence that are actively seeking to be an encouragement and resource to others in different parts of the world who share the same values and vision
  • artner Programmes: organisations providing HIV-related services
  • Development Partners:international organisations which act as resources to different parts of the Alliance

The Alliance is a network of organisations co-operating together, rather than a funding organisation, does not have a big central administration and does not make central grants.

The main work of the Alliance is carried out by the National Resource Centres, programmes based in countries such as England, Scotland, Ireland, India, Uganda, Thailand, the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

New Programme Partners join the Alliance on the recommendation of an existing National Resource Centre, after a period of working together.Members commit themselves to effective Christian action in the AIDS field, and to sharing / networking expertise, experience and resources as they are able.
