Problems with Videos?

Computr1.gif (5053 bytes)  Problems with videos?  Computr1.gif (5053 bytes)

Over 500,000 have watched videos on this site in the last year or two. They contain videos of corporate events and keynote speeches, important information and demonstrations not found on text pages.

Reasons for problems:

Server too busy: Sometimes the our video server is overloaded by massive demands - especially just after something like cloning has been in the news. Try a little later.

Corporate firewall: Some webmasters of companies block video because it slows down their networks. If you represent a corporation and are interested in booking Dr Dixon for an event or keynote, we can send you a video - e-mail your request with event details.

No RealPlayer: However another common reason for problems is that you don't have RealVideo player or not the very latest one, available free from

Just click on the link and follow the instructions.  You will then gain access to over 200,000 Web TV stations. There IS a free player on the site but you have to look for it.

If you have never downloaded software before, don't worry.  It really is easy.  You will land up saving a file somewhere on your own hard disk (you decide where).  You then need to activate the file using Windows Explorer to find it, and double-click on it.  It will then automatically install the video player as part of your web browser.  Once this happens, any videos made using the RealVideo system on web pages you visit will play automatically.

For best quality image and sound it is worth buying the full version.

If you have a slow modem, or traffic is heavy, you may find the message "buffering" appears on the screen when trying to watch.  Try waiting or returning in a few minutes.

There are lots of hidden settings to explore on RealPlayer - try right-clicking on the video screen when it is playing, or selecting the RealPlayer from your desktop.  For example, the buffer setting can cause major delays if set to download the full video before starting to play.  Set the buffer to just a few seconds.  There are also settings to help get through corporate firewalls.

If you have major problems please contact RealVideo, but DO tell us too as we like to know.
